It's not all work work work for the Swansea and Gower Lib Dems! Stay tuned for details of upcoming social events for members and non-members, as well as some photos of previous occasions! Upcoming Events24th April 2009 - Curry and a MingleSwansea and Gower Liberal Democrats Present: Curry and a Mingle at The Glamorgan Pub at 7.30pm on Friday 24th April 2009. The Glamorgan Pub can be found at 88 Argyle Street, Sandfields, Swansea, SA1 3TA (Opposite the Civic Centre). The evening includes curry meal with a choice of mild, medium, or hot curry, side dishes such as onion bhajis and dessert. Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Kirsty Williams will be present, as will some swansea councillors. This is a perfect chance to socialise with them and other members. The entry price is only £6 to be paid on the night but spaces are limited to thirty so a speedy reply is advisable to reserve a place. However non-members are welcome. 2008 Pool TournamentThe 2008 Swansea and Gower Lib Dem pool tournament took place on the 25th of October, with competitors from across the local region. The event was attended by Welsh party leadership candidates Jenny Randerson AM and Kirsty Williams AM. The title was successfully defended by Morriston activist Jon Clarke.
Meal with Nick CleggA three course meal was recently enjoyed with Nick Clegg, the newly elected leader of the Liberal Democrats. This was Nick's first trip to Wales since being elected as leader. The black tie event was a great success, raising valuable funds for the local party.
2007 Pool TournamentThe 2007 Swansea and Gower Lib Dem pool tournament took place on the 6th of October, and attracted competitors from as far afield as Cardiff and Merthyr. The knock-out tournament consisted of 'best of three' matches, with several shock wins along the way. Much fun was had by all, and funds were raised for local campaigns.
